Mayor Robert Sweet has been a member of County Council for more than 17 years, serving three consecutive terms, five in total, as Warden. Mayor Sweet serves as Chair for the Development and Property Committee and also sits on Finance and Administration, County/City Liaison, K&P Railway Management Advisory and CP Rail Corridor Advisory Committees. Mayor Sweet has actively served in various community organizations on behalf of Renfrew County, including five years, two as Chair, on the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus, and four years as a Board Director for the Association of Municipalities. Mayor Sweet’s legacy achievements include his work as Chair, bringing the Relay for Life to Renfrew County, the County Expo 150 and is currently part of the organizing group bringing the 2019 OSUM conference to the County. Mayor Sweet fills his limited down time with his family and attempting to perfect his golf game.
