Situated in the north west corner of Renfrew County, along the Trans Canada highway between the renowned Ottawa River and equally as legendary Algonquin Park, are communities including Stonecliff, Bissett Creek and Deux Rivieres. Besides the township containing the entrance to Brent in Algonquin, there is also Driftwood Provincial Park on the remarkable Ottawa River which was designated a Canadian Heritage River in 2016. A popular destination in all seasons for outdoor activities, including snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and riding all terrain vehicles, this area of countryside has impressive accommodations of lodges, campgrounds and resorts.

The land within the township has been zoned for all uses, and boasts low property taxes for both businesses and homeowners. Located nearby are the Rapides Des Joachims Ontario Power Generating Station, and Canadian Nuclear Laboratories.

The area allows for significant forestry harvesting, and there is a major graphite deposit. The mine and processing facilities are entering the final stages of development.
